Forex Trading Alert: U.S. Dollar Drops after Initial Jobless Claims
January 16, 2014, 10:21 AMThe U.S. dollar moved lower against major currencies after a smaller-than-expected drop in the number of new unemployment claims. The Labor Department said in its report that initial claims for jobless benefits decreased by 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 326,000 in the week ended Jan. 11 (while economists had expected 330,000 new claims for the week).
