Does Gold Always Respond to Real Interest Rates?
October 27, 2014, 3:07 PMGenerally, the real interest rates are negatively correlated with the gold price, i.e. the rising interest rates adversely impact the price of the yellow metal. However, there are many objections to the use of such a simple model, and generally to the adverse relationship between gold and real interest rates.

Gold and Real Interest Rate
October 20, 2014, 12:52 PMDoes gold respond to the inflation or rather to the real interest rate? Paul Krugman said once that the reason behind the high real price of gold between 2001 and 2011 was low real interest rates, not the expected inflation.
