How Crazy It Is to Short Gold with RSI Close to 30
July 16, 2018, 9:32 AMAiming to make money on gold price’s decline is always controversial. The long-term fundamentals remain favorable and gold and silver are likely to exceed their previous highs in the coming years. True, but that doesn’t mean that both metals can’t move even lower in the next several weeks or even months. Different factors govern more short-term-oriented trades as markets are emotional, not logical in the near term.
One of the popular techniques that is used to detect good entry and exit prices for gold is the RSI indicator and the most popular way to use it is to buy when RSI moves to 30 and sell when RSI reaches 70.
Yet, sometimes it’s a good idea to keep shorting gold even with RSI close to 30. In today’s articles we’ll explain why this is the case.

Uptrend Continues, but..
July 16, 2018, 7:38 AMFriday's trading session was pretty much uneventful, as investors awaited the coming quarterly earnings releases season. The S&P 500 index continued to trade along the level of 2,800 and it's closer to breaking higher towards the late January record high. There are still two possible medium-term scenarios, but bulls are happier than a week ago.

Is it the Greenback Time?
July 13, 2018, 8:02 AMAlthough last week’s decline took the USD Index under the late June’s lows, currency bulls didn’t break down with this deterioration and responded to their rivals fairly in previous days. Thanks to their determination, the greenback has wiped out most of the recent decline, which in combination with several other positive factors about which we wrote in today's Forex Trading Alert suggests that ...

Gold’s & Silver’s Reversals’ Reversals
July 11, 2018, 7:44 AMIn yesterday’s analysis, we discussed how meaningful gold and silver’s pre-market decline was given a relatively small move in the USD Index. The implications were quite bearish for the PM market, especially that we had just seen a target being reached in gold stocks. And because mining stocks had just underperformed gold for the first time in weeks. Yet, before the day was over, the USD, gold and silver had all reversed and erased most of their daily moves. Does it make the outlook bullish again? Is gold still likely to reach $1,300 shortly?

USD/CAD - The Good, The Bad and… The Profit
July 10, 2018, 11:09 AMThey say that the fortune favors the bold, but “they” clearly have never tried making money while trading the forex market. “Nobody ever got broke by taking profits” seems more reasonable as far as sayings go, but the truth is that in the end it’s always the risk to reward that decides whether a given position should be held or not and deviating from it is costly sooner or later. The situations in the EUR/USD and USD/CAD pairs were just very favorable, but they are now only somewhat favorable and exercising the above key rule seems appropriate. This is a profitable execution.

The Euro, the British Pound and the Other Side of the Coin
July 6, 2018, 10:39 AMAnalyzing the medium-term charts of the euro and the British pound, we see that currency bulls have fought fiercely against their rivals in recent weeks. Despite several attempts to push both currencies lower, they successfully defended their main strongholds in both cases and defeated the fans of the greenback. What does this mean for the U.S. currency and its European competitors?

Crude Oil and Its Another Interesting Relationship
July 6, 2018, 10:08 AMTuesday's unsuccessful attempt to break above upper borders of the rising trend channels cost oil bulls more than many buyers expected. Their weakness was quickly detected by the rivals, who took control during yesterday's session. The effects of their attack are seen not only on the crude oil charts, because they also affected the interpretation of our next interesting ratio. Is it possible that the relationship between black gold and the general stock market will give us valuable tips on the future of light crude as it has many times in the past?
