I decided to stick to the vlog format for now, and see how it works (and how/if you like it) after I improve the screen stabilization, sound quality, and I get a bit more experience in doing those recordings. I get the feeling that the alternative methods that some of you mentioned (screen recording + my miniature video in one of the corners) would provide a greater clarity with regard to charts, but on the other hand, the focus on the person presenting their points would be smaller. And some of you emphasized the explanations and my added emphasis on some issues as the core benefit of the videos. That's what I can better do while having better control over the camera during the recording. And you’ll get the charts in their full version in the written format, anyway. I'm not saying a definite "no" to the above format, but let's test this format first.

What do you think about the screen stabilization (now) and the background of the video in general? Maybe people use bookshelves, company banners etc., but I’m not sure if this is indeed something that increases the perceived value of the videos. On one hand, sure, a suit, books / awards etc. emphasize one's professionalism, but on the other hand, it seems to me that we’re all now used to the work-from-home idea, where all sorts of serious professionals had various backdrops. So, perhaps a more “natural” environment is just as fine. By the way, my bookshelves are actually behind the screen.

I tried to improve the sound quality, but the external (directional) mic arrived broken, so there’s no improvement here YET.
