Stock Trading Alert: Stocks extend their short-term consolidation

October 28, 2013, 4:48 PM

The U.S. stock market indexes have closed virtually flat today, as investors remained hesitant before this week’s economic data announcements, including Wednesday’s FOMC Rate Decision. The S&P 500 index reached a new all-time high at 1764.99 today. The investor reaction to quarterly earnings report from Apple Inc. is rather mixed in the after-hours trade, as Nasdaq 100 futures contract (CFD) extends its short-term consolidation:

Our intraday outlook is bearish, and our short-term outlook remains neutral, as there may be some further uncertainty following recent rally:
Intraday outlook: bearish
Short-term outlook: neutral
Medium-term outlook: neutral
Long-term outlook: bullish
