When does a junior stock become eligible to come off the pink sheets? It would make it a lot easier to buy and sell. I’m thinking specifically about Great Panther Silver Ltd.
Here’s a response we got from Great Panter:
Any broker/dealer in the US can list a public company on the pink sheets and become the market maker for trading shares of that company. It’s not a matter of being eligible for a pink sheets listing or being eligible to be removed.
So, it turns out that even if a stock is listed on the NYSE Amex, it still may be on a pink sheets listing. However, as the majority of investors switch to trading this stock through the NYSE Amex, trading through other listings simply diminishes and eventually ceases to take place.
